On 8 February 2022, the Tversky District Court in Moscow sentenced poet Daria Serenko to 15 days of administrative detention for allegedly doing “propaganda or public demonstration of Nazi attributes or symbols, or attributes or symbols of extremist organisations” in her Instagram post from 16 September 2021, reported BBC.
Serenko was sentenced under Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation because her posts contained Alexei Navalny Anti-Corruption Foundation’s (FBK) Smart Voting campaign symbols. The campaign advocated for a tactical voting strategy intending to consolidate the votes of the opposition.
In June 2021, the Moscow City Court named the FBK an extremist organisation and liquidated it.
